Alcoholic Makeup!

Okay so last night I found an image, that had some pretty colors, so i tried to duplicate it through makeup. This is my take on the picture. I still am going to do the looks from the nature pictures, but I didn't have them handy last night when I was able to dabble in makeup for 15 minutes! (Motherhood is soooooo demanding!!!) LOL

I was only able to do one eye, as I was trying to multitask. So here is the image and here is the one eye! LOL! I Promise I will do more when I am on vacation! Only 9days left!

(I'm still working on the eyelash thing!)

BTW, I am in no way condoning the sale or use of alcohol. It just so happens that they have gorgeously colored advertisements!

So for all of us amateurs who aren't privvy to the PRO discount, we have the 25% off sale!!!! This sale is running from today, the 16th of June to the 18th of June! This is totally awesome! In for the powerpoint eyeliner, fluidline in black, ricepaper eyeshadow, and maybe a brush, or two.

Just enter the code Save25.

What are you in for?

NYX New Palette Sale!

Okay, so I just checked out NYX Cosmetics website, and they have their new eyeshadow palettes for $4.50!!! That is 50% off the regular price. I think it's pretty awesome. I haven't decided which one I am going to buy if any! The shipping costs alot and since I am in New York, it takes about 2 weeks for the items to come. So I am still debating whether or not I am going to order. Help me decide!!!

That's all for now.

So this post isn't about makeup. It isn't about beauty products. It's just about the ventilation of your mind! I HATE MONDAYS!!! Ahh! I feel better!

Yup. Thats it!

Points for Free Makeup

Hey All,

I was invited to a site where you can earn points to get free makeup and beauty supplies. All you have to do is receive the invite from me to get started. Once on the site, you can earn points by inviting others and they accept the invitation (must accept, and this is how you earn the most points). You can also write reviews, start forums, and respond to blogs. There are other ways to make points as well. If you are interested, comment me your name and email address so I can send you the invite.

Til next time.

Nature Inspired Makeup

Hey All,

So over the weekend, (I hope), I will be using the following photos as inspirations for looks. Right now I am in school and have limited time to devote to my makeup until the 26th of this month. Then I will be able to devote more time to both this blog and my craft. But I thought of doing an inspiration series of blogs where I use photos to inspire my looks. The theme of the following pics are all under the Nature Umbrella! The following are some photos that I will use as inspiration:

This Picture Minus the Car LOL!

Any more Picture you can comment and leave suggestions!

My own makeover!

So it's been a couple of weeks since I did a blog, but this is one I am excited about. It is a before and after of makeup that I did practicing with my new products on myself. I normally use clinique liquid foundation, which I have been using for years. But since ren (makeupbyrenren) offered such great reviews on graftobian foundation palette and cosmetics, I bought some from the makeup show, and I have finally used it. Hubby and I went out on Saturday night, and we went to macy's mac counter first. And I must say, it is an awesome feeling as an aspiring makeup artist (just started doing makeup a couple months ago, for real for real) to hear other mac artists say how nice your makeup looks and who from the counter did it!

Anyway, here is the before and after photo and a list of the products I used.

Gratobian Oxiderm moisturizer
Graftobian Corrector Palette (Pink)
Mac Concealer (used for my eyebrows) in NW40 ( I am NW 43)
Graftobian Foundation
Hot pinkish Cream Blush (private label)
Mac Highlighter in (I forgot!LOL)
Urban Decay Primer Potion
88 Palette Purple, Light Purple, Black, and MUFE 92
Lips are nyx seductive, and honey gloss.

Until Next time,

The Makeup Show NYC 2009

Hey All!!!

So I went to the Makeup Show NYC yesterday and had an AWESOME TIME!!! I received many helpful tips, learned more about the makeup union (didn't know one existed), enjoyed the workshops and of course the discounts!

Eve Pearl ( Makeup Artist to the stars) gave a presentation, Adesign brushes gave a demonstration and others. I even have some interest in airbrushing after watching Luminess Air give their demonstration. It is a cool and quick way of doing many looks.

Okay so on to the things I bought.

First I stopped by the Yaby counter and picked up two empty "freestyle" magnetic palettes.

Next I travelled down the yellow brick road to the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Counter. I really wanted the lip tars, but they only had the yellow, green, blue, and black ones left. I wanted clear, but that didn't happen! So I bought three loose pigments. One is like a rust color called Copperwire, one is a goldish shimmer called Auric, and one is a silverish called Iced.

Swatches of the colors. The gold one is done twice because I got red in it by accident. Oh. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion as the base.

I just kept on going and I stopped at the coveted, wish you had a store in my neighborhood, Crown Brush!!!! I bought a couple of Italian Badger Brushes, lots of liner brushes, disposable mascara wands, and lip applicators, a brush cleaner (because I want to see how it works) and the highly reviewed 88 eyeshadow palette. In a later blog, I will list the brush numbers.

Then I stopped my Makeup Forever's counter and bought 92, and 99. I have been DYING for a red eyeshadow but didn't want to pay the 18 dollars for it. But I did get both for $16 including tax...yes TAX! but hey, it's still less than the 18 per shadow.

These two are in my Yaby Magnetic palette shown above.

Finally I stopped by the Graftobian counter. I've heard great things about this company. I bought the cream foundation palette in Warm, the Dual Finish Powder in Warm, their Oxiderm moisturizer, and the Color Corrector Palette.

I thought that was finally but wait, I also stopped at the Parian Spirit counter for their environment friendly brush cleaner that dries fast and is SOOOOO AMAZING!!!

And finally for real, I stopped by the Aurelia Beauty Counter and purchased their 10 Cream Blush Palette, an empty Magnetic Palette, a mixing plate (they ran out of spatulas) and 3 other blushes. They are so creamy, pigmented and nice!

This concludes my purchase list from the Makeup Show 2009 NYC! Can't wait for next year!!! For now I think I'm set! The only thing I went looking for but could not find was black gel eyeliner because everyone was sold out! But that's okay. For now I will just get the Loreal HIP Gel liner. I like those alot!

Other Photos from the Show

Makeup Forever's Body Painting

Cosmix School of Artistry Full Body Airbrush

And this one I didn't get to watch the whole thing or see the finished product, but this so far is awesome!

I'm still waiting...

So on May 2nd, I was so stoked about ordering from NYX and for the first time. Besides the fact that I am trying to get products to practice with and there was this HUGE FANTASTIC SALE!!! So here it is...May 14th and I'm still waiting for my items! I spent about 100 bucks or so in total and am still waiting. AND I paid for shipping! But I am not going to knock these sites because people love them, and I haven't received my items yet, but I am assured they are on their way. I can't wait! I want to check out all these products and possibly do a review. I've heard rave reviews about NYX cosmetics and want to try their products. So until then, I will let you know the updates.

Oh and by the way, I am counting down til the Makeup Show NYC!

Still thinking of a hot tagline.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Hello All. This is my very first Blog post and I'm super duper excited!!! (Clapping hands and bouncing in my seat!). First I want to say, thank you all for taking the time out to read this. It's pretty awesome that you chose to do that!

Okay, so to the blog.

I am going to the Makeup Show New York on the May 17th. Yes it's for two days, but I have to work on that Monday, as I am a school teacher. But anyway, my birthday is on the 16th so what an awesome way to celebrate. I told my husband to tell anyone that asks, to get me a giftcard to Mac or Sephora. Anyway, ( I do get sidetracked alot, but the purpose of a blog is to act like you are talking to someone, so I won't delete the side conversations, as they can become pretty funny!) I'm a soooo stoked about going. This will be my first one! I am an aspiring Makeup Artist and need to build my collection. I have a couple of jobs here and there, but my collection is NOWHERE NEAR where it needs to be. This will be the perfect opportunity to start as well as get some more fantastic tips from other gurus and professionals in the industry.

So for now, I am just counting down the days til I go and will definitely post pics from the event! Hope to see some of you there.

BTW, I want to give a special thanks to makeupbyrenren who has awesome tutorials and blogs and I have learned so much from just watching her. Also, I want to thank QueenofBlendingmua (Lauren) from youtube, who is soooo fantastic! And last but not least, Jhenelledena from youtube who got me started on learning other tips and tricks about makeup.

One day I will become a guru and offer tutorials and pics and all that good stuff. For now, I will just keep working.

Any tips, tricks and comments are greatly welcomed!

Still thinking of a cool sign off tag.
